I have been playing bass for 24 years.I had a SR800 back in the 80's and it rocked!.I have had many different basses since then and very happy I came back too Ibanez SR.They play and sound great,very smooth and fast neck.You can get any kind of sound You want out of it.Buy it and You will like it

I picked this bass up last May (2008) and it has been great. I have been playing for around 4 years now and this has been my favorite bass. It really gives you anything you want! Pick this baby up. I have played this bass with multiple bands and arrangements and it has always blown through!

I have got to say that Ibanez makes one of the finest sounding basses out there. I've always been a Ibanez fan though I have owned and tried other products in the bass line. For the looks, sound, and quality, and affordability, you can't beat this gorgeous instrument.

The sound is amazing and playing it through a new model peavey 300 watt amp with equalizer on the amp as well, mercy you can get any type of tone your looking for in any type of music.

I HIGHLY recommend this Bass for beginner or professional, you will be more than satisfied!

PS: I wouldn't be afraid to put this bass against any other 4 string bass. Also just because one pays a lot more for a product does not mean they always gonna get better.

You just cannot beat Ibanez 400 series basses. I own a EDB400(wood)& a SR400QM(lavender). This SR is beautiful in every way you want a bass to be. I've been playing for almost seven years, (purely for the love of creating music), and in that time I've owned more basses than I could keep track of. I was on a quest to find the perfect bass for me. Due to some early experience with some older & lesser Ibanez basses I had pretty much given up on them. First the Ergodyne caught my eye, tried it, fell in love, brought it home. Then I saw the SR, BEAUTIFUL! I picked it up and was just blown away. The first thing you notice, (of course), is the finish, then the body, like their S series guitars, the thickest part of the body is the middle, (around the pick-ups), and tapers to the edges. This bass is sooo comfortable, and light-weight, and you can get a variety of amazing tones. Great action and a fast neck add to the excellent playability of this instrument. I just can't say enough, I've owned both basses mentioned for a while now and I can't for the life of me think of a single negative thing to say about either one. Before you buy anything else you should give one a try, if you do, I bet you'll buy. I know I've stopped searching.

P.S. I play mine through an Ampeg BA-115, with the occassional crunch from a Digitech Bass Driver stompbox.

This is worth every penny and even more! I can not believe the sound quality and the playablility! This bass is extremely light and the neck is sooo quick. The pickups can go from warm to poppy to smooth!!! Looking for a bass in this price range then go and get this!!!
