Compared to the Boss Bass Overdrive, this box is far superior for far less. To me, the Boss O.D. is too noisy. I noticed our local music store quit carrying them after a while, but they still had the Bass Chorus and Bass Synth. The features on this are great. Except the clean. The attack switches get a little noisy on the clean, and the two way EQ is alright...But I love the Overdrive. It's so versatile! You can dial in some fairly light early-ZZ Top Dusty Hill tones, to some of Muse or Beastie Boys tones. I use it to play Sabotage, mainly and for solos. It's a lot of fun, and I'll never sell it despite the fact I'm buying a DM-4 from Line 6 at some point.

I like this thing; it's easy to use, and covers pretty big range of slightly distorted to over-the-top. The attack modes work basically as filters, which allows you to just filter your clean output if you want to, which is, of course, useful if you want to put this to a subtler use.

My brother got this peadal with his first bass and never used it, so I decided to use it as a overdrive. MAN WAS I SUPRISED!!! I wouldn't compare it to a tube screamer, but it's still very, very good.

Not a bad pedal. The sound is pretty good but if you are looking for something subtle, you will probably have to go to another pedal. I use three, MXR DI for the subtle stuff, Phat head for the clang and clatter, and an old MXR Distortion plus for the over the top balls out crunch.

The quality of the sound is superb. I have never had any problems with the clipping getting so out of control that it cut out. it is solid and full. There are actually a lot of sounds that you can get on this if you know what you are doing.

The best feature is the attack mode switch. You can turn the pedal into an overdrive, distortion, or just a signal booster. The boost that this gives in conjuction with a DI is pretty big, so use it sparringly.

The only problem I found with is that it is a little fragile. After a while of using it it became tempermental with the foot switch toggle. At time it just won't turn on or off with out multiple trys.

All and all an above average product.

Great sound... not durable

I've had this pedal for a while. The sound is awesome. Its true that it is a little harsh for some things but for the right type of music its great. The only problem is that its not very durable. After about a year it gave up on me. I never took it to gigs I mainly just messed around with it in the studio. For a little more control and reliability I'd have to say definitely go with the Boss Bass Overdrive. A little more expensive but you can get softer more nuanced overdrive and definitely something that will last.
