One of the first bass amps from Line 6, the Low Down Studio 110 Combo Bass Amp delivers an incredible array of dialed-in, stage-perfected bass tones. While most bass combos focus on volume and clean tone, LowDown offers 4 killer bass amp models that cover everything from funk to classic rock and beyond. Plus, the oversized, high-speed power amp has incredible articulation and bottom end punch that's ideal for live or studio work.

The LowDown delivers 4 carefully crafted amp models that can take you from modern punch to a thunderous, full-on assault! Each model automatically dials up a great sound that you can change to your liking and save into a preset using the channel memories on the front panel.

Clean—Inspired by the Eden Traveler*, this model is all about clean, funk, and fusion bass tone. It'll give you all the warm lows and punchy highs you need.

R & B—Inspired by a 1968 B-15 Flip Top, this model is a tribute to those late 60's and early 70's clean fat bass tones. It is the kind of tone you here on most Motown recordings, as played by a pioneering young James Jamerson.

Rock - This model is inspired by the '74 Ampeg SVT. This workhorse has appeared on innumerable recordings and arena stages worldwide. And now all the tone of the 300 lb behemoth 8X10 and head is available in your combo!

Grind—As the name would suggest, this is for modern rock lovers, Alice in Chains to Mudvayne and Rage Against The Machine. Based on a distorted SansAmp PSA-1 into an SVT in addition to a direct clean bass signal mixed in, this model gives you that angry, clear and punchy aggression that takes your sound to DEFCON 1.

The XLR Direct Output was designed for recording or sending your sound to a house sound system when you're playing live. This output utilizes exclusive Line 6 A.I.R. processing which has made products like POD the undisputed standard for direct recording. Whether you're playing a gig in a club or rushing off to a recording session, this POD-based direct out will give you huge, mic'd amp tone everywhere you go!

Lightweight and Good!

The first time I heard someone play one of these little amps, I couldn't believe so much sound was coming out of such a tiny package. Last year, I bought one because it's small size and light weight fits my multi-recreation lifestyle (where a lot of times I'll have fishing, canoeing and music gear in my vehicle all at the same time).

members werMost of my band gigs are in small venues, and everywhere I play this amp does the job. I've never taken the gain knob to full; never have had to. In one recent gig, played inside a large circus-type tent where the band e separated quite a distance apart, I turned the little Line 6 backwards and bounced its sound off the tent walls for better distribution. Worked perfectly; our lead guitar player, everybody, could hear me just fine.

I love that 24-lb. weight. It's like a month in the country carrying this thing into and out of my gigs, compared to the 60+ lb. amps I've used prior.

Solid Little Amp

I bought this because I wanted a solid amp that had a good line out to run to our PA system. I am not our primary bass player, but when ours doesn't show up, we go to a 3 piece and play. The line out is great. The only thing is, I had the same trouble with the amp another person said they had - the amp went out within two weeks of owning. Fortunately, Line 6 has a 1 year warranty on it, so I packed it up, they mailed me postage, and sent it to them. In two weeks I had a brand new one and an apology letter. This new amp sounds great. I love it. I know it looks small, but it is extremely loud. I have heard some iffy stuff about line 6 products, but this was a good buy i am happy with, it really sounds great using the recording out. The only thing is that this amp is good for practice but you can't hear it live unless you run it through a system or have monitors, so don't plan on playing live with no other amplification and people being able to hear you.

Also, the eq is about as good as you are going to find and you can really dial in a variety of sounds with the eq, and the 4 presets do let you get a pretty good range of tone for what bass players are looking for. But if you are a bass snob and live on the Ampeg or Sunn sounds and tones, don't buy this amp. But if you need a variety of tones from a solid small sounding amp, you won't be sad with this purchase.

Just purchased this little baby a few days ago, I have to tell you for a practice amp you cannot go wrong good tone clear and punchy if you which can handle low b without farting out. It's a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. If you wish to gig out with ,run a line to pa. Amp in one hand bass in another gig bag over the shoulder one trip sweet. It has nice volume and with that volume it still stays clear in tone and not muddy if you wish overall great buy I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for a good practice amp slash gig amp with pa support.

I picked this amp up about 3 months ago...

I picked this amp up about 3 months ago for practice and rehersals. Very impressed. The synth sounds are useless to me, guess somebody would be into them. After tweaking I found some very useful sounds. I generally trade off between the R&B, Rock,& Grind depending on the song, and now & then throw in Brit for a Squire type sound. The Grind is quite useable if you turn the drive down, I use that as a top end STV sound. I've recently been using this amp live at a weekly open jam we host, putting the direct into the pa gives me all the volume I need. Had a lot of comments (good) on the sound. I also use a Tech 21 Bass Driver & Boss Oc-3 live. Like any new toy you have to spend a little time getting your sound, I've found that it's very easy to overdrive this amp to the point of farting out, just have to mess with the gain/drive to get it right. It's nice to be able to go from the parking lot to the gig in one trip. One thing that would be nice is the ability to switch sounds with a pedal. In my 'big rig' I use a BassPodpro as a pre,Line 6 has done their homework on these products. I'd recommend this amp to anyone looking for small, portable, affordable.

Great amp...while it worked

This was my first amp and I loved it. It had a great EQ, all the settings you could ask for, and even had some pretty nifty effects built in. Now recently I bought a 6 string bass, and have been using the low B ALOT. And guess what, the amp just gave out. It just did... If I wasn't so mad about the quality, I would buy it again. So yes I recommend this product, that is if your willing to pay every year for a mediocre sound.
