The Line 6 HD750 is a bass amp head, that much like its LD400 Pro combo and HD400 amp head brother, offers LowDown tone in a rack-mountable amplifier that gives you 750W (at 4 ohms), 375W (at 8 ohms) of power. The LowDown HD750 has 5 popular, adjustable tones, including Rock, Clean, R&B, Grind, and Brit. The Line 6 HD750 amp head gives working players great power, tons of versatility, and commanding tonal definition. It also comes with a set of 5 crucial effects, including a studio-quality compressor based on the Teletronix LA-2A from the 60's, the Smart Control FX Envelope Filter, Octaver, Chorus, and a full-featured bass Synth with fully adjustable parameters.

The HD750 amp head features great ins, outs, and hardware like two NL4M-series Speakon speaker outputs, a balanced XLR direct output with exclusive A.I.R. processing, a 1/4" preamp output, an FBV jack, and rock-solid construction specifically designed to help it survive the road life.

Amp Models: Clean
Inspired by the Eden Traveler, this model is all about clean, funk, and fusion bass tone. It'll give you warm lows and punchy highs.

R&B
Inspired by a '68 B-15 Flip Top, this model is a tribute to those clean, fat, bass tones of the late 60's and early 70's. It is the kind of tone you hear on most Motown recordings, as played by the pioneering young bassist James Jamerson.

Rock
This model is inspired by the '74 Ampeg SVT which has appeared on innumerable recordings and arena stages worldwide. Now, all the tone of the head and 300-pound behemoth 8x10 cab is available without having to lookup a chiropractor.

Brit
Based on a '68 Marshall Super Bass, this model delivers the kind of overdriven bass sounds brought to us by late '60s British rock pioneers like Cream and The Who.

Grind
As the name would suggest, this is for the modern rock sound of the late '90s and the new millennium popular in bands like Alice in Chains, Mudvayne, and Rage Against The Machine. Based on a distorted SansAmp PSA-1 into an SVT with a direct clean bass signal mixed in, this model gives you that angry, clear, and punchy aggression that cuts through the mix and takes your sound to DEFCON 1.

Effects models: Compressor
This pro LA-2A-style compressor is ideal for helping every bass player - particularly the ones who play with their fingers - achieve a smooth and consistent signal at any volume.

Envelope filter
Based on a Q-Tron, this envelope filter effect can be heard on tons of major funk and rock tunes.

Octaver
Based on the EBS OctaBass, this effect produces a single note one octave below the note you're playing to add a powerful new vibe to your sound.

Chorus
Based on the much loved T.C. Electronic Chorus, this transparent, smooth, and expressive chorus was built for bass, and using it won't reduce your low end. It's an especially beautiful complement for fretless basses.

Synth
Sitting at the back of the model knob is this secret weapon that turns LowDown into a '70s classic bass synth. From funk to modern rock, this fully adjustable synth delivers incredible tones while tracking every dynamic move you make.

I have been the proud owner of this amp for a little over 6 months now. This amp seriously gives me every sound I could ever need. The presets come in handy as well if you're the kind of player who uses a lot of effects or you just want different EQ settings for different songs. When the salesmen at the store showed this amp to me, I was a bit skeptical at first as Line 6 is mainly known for their guitar amplifiers, but as soon as I plugged in, I was blown away.

Everything about this amp is so easy to figure out, I didn't even need the manual. It's loud, and can be very aggressive sounding, or perfect for the kind of tone you would use to just hang back in the pocket and work a groove. I went into the shop looking to invest in an Ampeg or a higher end Gallien Krueger, but I left the shop as a Line 6 man!

I played this amplifier recently and I was very impressed with it. Line6 is good about adding features that players really want. The DI out makes it easy to mix/blend direct and mic'ed signals. The range of bass tones is good. I think most bass players could find their sound with this amp. I wouldn't use all the sounds but it's nice to know they're there if I ever want to use them. Also, for bassists in loud bands, this thing can get really really loud.

I bought this amp on the hope of reducing the clutter of a pedal box in front of my mic. After becoming addicted to my POD X3 LIVE, I was a bit worried that I wouldn't have the pocket groove thump that I was getting from my POD. I was very happy to find out that I was able to dial in a sound that was ground shaking while we set up in front of an NYC audience of about 200. I set up using no sound reinforcement at all, was done in 5mins and never looked at the manual. The SVT sound gives you that kick you in the chest you have come to love from Ampeg without any of the worries caring around little glass vials that can break. I was actually able to use several of the PRESETS.... In 20 years of playing I have never found a preset that was worth using; that is no longer the truth. The much smaller controller up front gave me the room that I love to run around. The A.I.R. effect DI on this amp is amazing. Since every club is going to DI you out, you might as well buy an amp that sends your real sound to front, not just the raw signal,,,, Most DI's send your signal with no effect . What did you buy an amp for if not to get that sound of it? The look is awesome, It is built like a chrome plated tank with a ground effects kit. There is no way you could pull this amp from my kung fu grip.
