This is the best bass you can buy for the money, hands down. I have a four string in trans red. I changed the strings that originally came from the factory, and it made a HUGE difference. The balance of the body make playing this bass a dream, its very stable and extremely responsive. The passive p/u and active EQ make a very reliable package that is very easy to dial in the tone you want. As for finish, I have a trans red finish, and the grain of the maple jumps right out at you...absolutely stunning!!! I added strap-locks for stage use...a must have for any guitar in my opinion. Spend the extra money on this MTD...you will not be disappointed.
