Excellent sound controls, quality speakers, and a solid design.
The Markbass CMD 102P is a tilt-back bass combo amplifier that has a built-in Little Mark II solid state preamp to give you more power. To help shape your sound, the CMD 102P bass amp gives you a 4-band EQ, as well as VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) filters for control. The Markbass CMD 102P amp's I/O includes an input that can handle both passive and active basses, and extra XLR balanced input for double bass pickups, Neutrik Speakon Combo out jacks for use with 1/4" or Speakon speaker cables, a tuner out jack for sending unbalanced signals to a tuner, amp, or other recording equipment, and Send and Return Effect jacks to ensure your main signal continues even if something dies in your effects chain. This versatile bass combo has an angled cabinet so that you can use it as a floor model or in the more traditional vertical position. Either way, you're going to get a warm, natural sound from the 2 B&C 10" speakers and the piezo tweeter. And if you add an external cab via the outputs, the CMD 102P combo amp will give you enough sound to fill a large venue with headroom to spare.

I bought this amp to save my back, and I never realized that I had bought the best sounding amp I've ever used until I got it to a gig. Sure, the power and weight are important. Its features and controls are simple, functional, and easy to use (no mute switch, though). But tone and evenness of response are the name of the game, and this amp has them in spades. The sound is balanced, clean, and sweet throughout the range of a 6-string bass. Tone you can feel and hear with perfect clarity. No dead or booming notes. Absolutely silent electronics. I've several times had bass players come up to find what was producing such a superb sound, and several of them have said they're going to look into this amp. It's an absolute joy to play through this baby.

I had the opportunity to sit in with a band recently that has the Markbass 102P in the line. Having been a Crate to Ampeg to whatever guy in the past, with the "bigger is better" mindset I can say that I was totally blown away with the sound out of this little 2x10 box. There was nothing it couldn't do. Played a short scale Hoffy to a fretless Tobias through it and it was remarkable.

I have never played a Markbass amp, i have never liked.
I used this at a gig this weekend were the back line was supplied. Boy was i relieved when i saw those big yellow speakers.
This Amp really thumps.
Pros: Lightweight, cool look. Great tone and great handling of the low frequencies especially with only 2 10" speakers.
Cons: For someone who doesn't own the amp, such as myself, the tone shaping stuff was a tad confusing. I think the 4 band EQ was a bit limiting to. A 10 band Graphic EQ would be nice.

After 2 years of using this amp every day, I just love it! Combine a 15in cab and you can blow out the windows of you neighbour with that super clean perfect sound! Its worth the $$ , seriously.

Man, I went through about a million bass amps, as I work at Guitar Center. Tried the SVT series (solid-state and tube), SWR, GK, etc. All of those are very good, but I never found one as versatile as this Markbass combo.
It is a little pricey, but worth it for someone who travels a lot and needs something a little more sturdy. And, it's light! Being a bass player, I expect most amplification equipment to weigh the equivalent of a small arsenal. This is definitely a one-hander and is not bulky to boot.
Sounds great with effects, namely the Big Muff. Lots of different features for recording and live play. Overall, a great value, albeit a tad pricey, but worth the extra pennies.
