The F1 is Markbass' lightest and smallest bass amp head to date. At 500W the F1 bass amp boasts an unbelievable power-to-weight ratio of more than 100W per pound. Its digital power amp gives the Markbass F1 bass amp head super-fast response and a crisp, clear, full sound that will convey every detail of your playing, instantly.

The F1 amp head's 1/4" input jack works with both active and passive basses and allows you to EQ your sound with Low, Mid Low, High Low, and High control knobs, as well as Markbass' exclusive VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) filters, with separate Gain and Master volume controls.

The rear panel has a balanced XLR out, Neutrik Speakon Combo jacks which work with either Speakon or 1/4" speaker cables, a tuner out, as well as Effect Send and Return 1/4" jacks to ensure you don't lose your main signal if a piece of your effects chain dies. There is also a ground lift switch to help eliminate hum. Despite being lightweight, the Markbass F1 bass amp head is made with a rigid 2mm thick aluminum chassis to ensure your investment can handle the rigors of the road.

I'm a bassplayer with 23 years of road and studio experience, and I've owned almost every Top end Peavey Bass amp ever made. And altough this is hard to admit, This is hands down the best sounding bass head I've ever owned. I went from a Bi-amped 1000 watt peavey kilobass run in stereo to this Markbass head and a 4 10 cab and my sound actually improved!! It is the clearest sounding, most versatile, and easiest to use bass head I've ever seen.

The Mark Bass F1 is a little monster! Great tone that is easily customizable using the VLE and VPF. Whether crafting a buttery line on my Jazz using flats, or riffing through a rock anthem on my TBird using Rotos, I am able to easily dial in my tone. Sound crews LOVE the balanced XLR output that lets THEM control the house sound. So small, I carry it in the padded laptop pouch in my backpack, yet 500 Watts can fill almost any club!

This little guy has gobs of tone, and is the size of a freaking VHS tape. It has all the special filters and voicings of the LMII, except it uses a Class D power amp. It's loud and punchy, and with the VLE I can get a nice, fat sound for the hiphop and reggae bass I normally play.

I bought the Markbass F1 to replace some of my old, heavy gear, and am blown away by its size to power ratio and clear sound. I use a Raven Labs mixer to send a Hofner copy bass, a mid' 70s Fender Precision (with a an added jazz pickup) and a Roland AX7 synth (set up as midi bass) through a Tone Works tube pre-amp into the F1. The F1 powers two Euphonic Audio speakers, one CXL112 and one NL210 and the sound is huge. I'm looking to add the Markbass 151HP 15"bass speaker to the sound when they come in. Try out the Markbass stuff and you won't be disappointed!!

I own the F1 and Little Mark II by Markbass and love both of them. The F1 has the same amount of power and headroom as the LM II, it's just smaller. If you're tired of lugging around your rack mount amps in heavy rack cases then the F1 is the head for you. I pair this head with a 4x10, 4ohm cab and it just kills! Order one of these.......NOW!
