Great ABG for the price

If you're looking for the freedom of having an ABG around for that unplugged jam in the living room or lobby (which I do when I'm on the road) this is a solid ABG for the price. I use mine for church rehearsals without an amp. I also use it plugged in for the "unplugged" set with my blues trio.

It's a solid instrument that projects pretty well. I tried an Ibanez once but found it was too weak in sound projection. IMHO, the Tacoma basses are the best but I don't do enough stuff needing an ABG to justify paying that much for one. Acoustically, Tacoma basses project louder and have a stronger bottom end while the Club Custom offers a little less volume and bottom. However, I found that plugged in it’s as good as any Tacoma bass or other models.

The Club custom is fun to play and the five string version puts the strings closer together which makes it easier for me to play. I thought the four string had the strings spaced too far apart for my comfort.

I have 20 years professional bass playing experience and have found this bass to be a great fit for what I use it for. Plus it looks cool on my wall when I'm not playing it.
