I got this bass a couple of weeks ago at the Guitar Center in Chicago and I am really happy with it. It met all my needs:

1) Sound projection - louder than other shorter scale neck acoustic-electric basses I tried(e.g. Ibanez) 2) Playability - shorter-scale neck, smaller body, not too hard to fret the notes 3) Tone - tone is deep and rich. Salesperson had to adjust the truss rod to eliminate some of the fret buzz. Sounds great now. 4) Look - I got the sun-burst and it just looks great! Beautiful. 5) Construction - seems well-made with reinforcement inside and outside the body 6) Price - very reasonable considering I bought it on clearance. I would've paid full price for a new one.

I have the sunburst, the pictures just do not do it justice. I also own a Michael Kelly Dragonfly in a five string. I must say you can't go wrong with a MK. Sounds awesome, plays great. I'm completely satisfied.

I just purchased this axe. For me, I just had to do a little tuning and right out of the box it sounded quite good. Unplugged it is beyond expectations and through an up it is just great.
