An exquisite bass that combines advanced technology with the finest craftsmanship. Stunningly flamed maple tops its premium alder body. Bartolini pickups with NTMB active EQ serve up the ultimate in tonal range and control. Its neck is a hi-tech marvel, an ultra-rigid D-shaped shell made from dozens of hand-formed layers of aerospace-grade, epoxy-impregnated carbon fibers and fitted with a fast, ultra-smooth phenolic fretboard. The neck's miraculous strength-to-weight ratio and extreme resonant peak produce a remarkably unclouded, even tone. It also transmits sound faster that wood, so articulation and attack dynamics are dramatically enhanced. Includes hardshell case.

I must tell you, this might just be THE best bass ever. The Carbon Fiber Neck is probably the coolest feature on this bass. In my opinion, it plays smoother than any other bass I've ever played, even my Fender American Deluxe Jazz that I love dearly. All hardware, electronics, and pickups are excellent. The next bass I buy will definitely be a Modulus.

Agree with best bass ever. Since I bought one of these basses I haven't picked up any other of my other basses. They just don't come close. I don't have the erge to go into music shops any more.

I've owned several moduli (I'm guessing thats the plural?) and all in all I think they're just a little blah. All of mine have had the barts and aguilar pres. Their tone is always really bland and thin. Sort of synthetic sounding. They have features out the wazzoo though. Mine doesn't sound anywhere near as nice as my pedulla or my thumb.

I have 15 basses ranging from Fender Jazz Squier to Alembic - Tobias - Music Man Etc..... I first tried a Modulus on an out of town gig maybe 10 years ago. The sound man was also a bassist, he let me try his out. This bass has so much Growl, Bite, Punch and Bottom. It should be illegal. I was reluctant to spend that much money, so that was put in my "one of these Days" list. In 04 I finally broke down and bought it. It's worth every penny and some. I played it at a Jam session. The house Bassist was playing a Lakeland bass. After I played my song the house bassist played again. He swore up and down that I'd blown his tweeters in his rig. I played again everything was normal... That's just the difference in the basses. Next to the Modulus, everything else sounds BROKEN.

This bass is for bassists who want everything from piano-like chiming tone to guttural growls. The 35" scale and the amazing graphite neck combine for zero dead spots, which I can't say even about my most prized 63 Jazz bass. I have the EMG's, but the available Barts are also amazing. I strongly recommend using the Modulus strings; I have used all manner of replacement strings and the Modulus ones bring out the best tone. I play thru a variety of amps depending on the gig, ranging from my ancient SVTs to a newer Mesa Boogie M1000 simulcast and the tone remains true. Mine is a maple top over alder body, but I have played numerous wood combinations and all have a different, but uniquely Modulus sound.
