I bought my Cirrus 10 years ago when they first came out, and i got so much slack for playing and buying a Peavey product. Every show i do people come up to me and ask,"why a peavey?" my bass instructor asked the sam question. He HAD a Ken Smith Custom, after he played my Cirrus, he bought a 5 string and sold his Ken Smith. I let people play my bass during downtimes at my shows, and their reaction is always the same,"Incredible bass! Gonna pick one up soon!" I play EVERY style of music with this bass. Rock, Funk, Gospel, Metal, Jazz, it can handle it all. Great thin fast neck, lightweight, excellent craftsmanship overall best bass i've ever played.

I found this bass at the local music store where I teach, and seeing as how I'm in the market for a new bass, I gave it a test drive. I've never really been drawn to Peavey instruments, but this bass totally changed my mind. I've looked at countless Spectors and upper-level Fenders, and found this bass to not only be on par with the workmanship of all of them, but more tonally versatile as well. With the EQ on the bass and the amp set completely flat, I got perhaps the best un-EQ'd tone of any bass I've played. Tweaking the knobs only made it better- great sounds for slap! I got great tones for fingerstyle as well, from a midrangey rock sound to thick, heavy dub. Comfy, smooth neck, soft satin body, dead silent pups, and no rattles or buzzes anywhere. I've played (and loved) a 5 string Warwick Streamer I for years, yet this bass REALLY impressed me.

Funk Machine

I played this Cirrus at a local music store, and I have to say its a great bass with a unique feel. It has a slightly longer scale than most four strings, but when you string it with extra light guage strings (like 95-40), it becomes an unstopable slap machine. The neck is incredibly fast, a little wide, and a little flat, with a smooth back. My only gripe would be the cheap, plastic knobs. I would expect something a little more rugged for a bass in this price range. The pickups and preamp sound fantastic. Very flexible sound. It would probably suit metal equally well as funk. Kudos to Peavey.

I love this bass because it feels awesome to play.My only complaint is that it eats batterys,I have to replace them about every 1-2 weeks. I have 2 other active basses and the batterys in those last months. Other than that I love this bass.
