The best bass ever

I got my grind last year as my first bass and I love it!! The sound is rich and full, and the feel is fantastic. The only thing missing is active pickups. The Passive humbucking pickups do not work for every type of music (you just can't shape the tone that much). But like a child I will never sale it! It is the best bass you can buy for the money and is a great foundation for any basses. It is that "old friend" you will always reach for. I am thinking of changing it over to a pair of EMG-40DC active pickups & bartolini pre-amp, so that I never need another bass. Also, don't use heavey stings in the though-body position or just stay with medimum strings. Don't let this bass get away!!

You Cannot Go Wrong With The Grind

For starters, this thing is amazing for its price. The neck thru construction adds a very "warm, rounded" sound alnong with increased tuning stability. I dropped mine at a gig once and it didn't fall out of tune. The action is perfect, I tune down 2 steps to G C G C D and I have NO fret buzz at all. String spacing is perfect, the neck is comfortable, the balance is almost perfect a bit body heavy but I like it.

Go for the Grind you won't regret it at all.

Plays as good as it looks!

It has a very warm, woody sound, and is super comfortable for a 5-string bass, in fact, I'm now becoming predominantly a 5-string player, I love the looks and playablility of this bass, and the tone, you have to hear for yourself to believe. I highly recommend having it professionally set up, as when I bought it, it was tuned to Standard E tuning and when I tuned down a half a step, it gave me all kinds of fret buzz, but now it is absolutely wonderful, buy with confidence, and just try to put it down!

Great Bass

I purchased a Grind after playing a 65 Fender J Bass for a number of years. I am impressed with the wood sound and the clarity of the lows. You need a good quality bass amp though. I usually play through 4-10's and a sub on stage and have never been disappointed with the Grind.

Great for rookies and veterans alike

This was my second bass after two years of playing a P-Bass. It was my first 5-string and had a larger neck than anything I'd played previously. After getting used to its size, the Grind bass quickly became my go-to instrument. For the price, this bass rocks hard. It has rumbling lows and crisp highs, and I got chills the first time I plucked that low-B. This is a tremendous instrument with great versatility of sound. It even comes out-of-the-box with some solid factory pickups and strings. I highly recommend it for rookies looking for their first 5-string, or veterans wanting to try something new and affordable. After two and-a-half years, I'm still thrashing away on this thing.
