You won't find a better bass for the price.

I generally don't write or read reviews for products because I believe most of them are biased and usually based on excitement rather than actual opinion of the product, but that's not the case here.

I've used the Peavy BXP 4 bass for over 3 years as my main axe when it comes to gigging and it has yet to disappoint.

This was also the last BXP4 that Sam Ash had in stock and after comparing it to other 5 other basses in the price range, I had to buy it. I wasn't a fan of the last color that they had left (Velvet Plum/Purple), but I just couldn't get over the feel and sound.

It has low action on a thin, fast neck which is a plus for the types of music I play. I must also comment on the light weight. You will not break your back if you use this bass for a 4-6 hour gig.

The active pickups are pure quality. The sound is amazing. I just wished that the batteries lasted longer, but with as much as I play, I know that won't happen.

I'm actually looking for a backup BXP4 with passive pickups. When I find one, I'll scoop it up with a quickness.

The Peavey Millenium 4AC BXP is a SERIOUS instrument for those that are new to bass, or want a GREAT sounding instrument, but don't want to pay over a grand for one of the boutique/big-name basses. The fit and finish on this is BEAUTIFUL, and my instructor has even expressed interest in it, to add to his collection of Fender (US-made), Lakland and Tobias basses - he is THAT impressed with the sound quality. The neck is fast, and thin, and the fret installation is super clean. Granted, you don't get the fancy Schaller-style tuning machines, but these STAY IN TUNE anyways! A GREAT value from Peavey, and I am a HARD grader!!! I am VERY, VERY pleased...

Alright, I just found this bass in a pawn shop today, and to be honest I did not expect such a good quality bass to be there. Awesome electronics, fast thin neck perfect for the way I play my metal music. Sure only twenty one frets, but it makes up for it not only in the killer finish but for the other qualities I mentioned. I just can't wait to break it in when I play with my band, let's hope it can handle some low tuning.

This can't be real. This thing has a heavy bottom and searing high's, guaranteed to deliver a punch in the face to every listener. And that's not even mentioning the killer finish. But the low price for such a weapon of choice is ridiculous! Don't let it fool you. This isn't cheap, poorly built sweatshop material. This is the real deal.
