I'm mainly a rock/metal guitarist and I wanted to buy a bass that would last because I wanted to expand my possibilities. I highly recommend this bass to anyone, except a professional or someone who mainly plays bass might want something more expensive. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that with the quilt-top finish (I have the transparent black), it's hard to even tell if it is a quilt-top if you aren't very close to it and you aren't looking in the light. But overall, amazing instrument.

This bass is very good for any type of playing. I myself use it for metal and the neck is very easy to move across making my style of playing heaven. This bass is very good for what its worth, if you are new to bass and think that it won't be AMAZING since peavey is moslty amp work you will be blown away. The tone is amazing, the neck is sold and thin, all in all an amzing bass.

This is by far the best value for your money if you're looking for a good solid 5 string bass. I play through an ampeg BA115 SP and this bass has never let me down. The neck is thin smooth and fast. You can make any sound you want to come out of this bass. It can go from thick and muddy to clean and crisp all within a few turns of some knobs. The pickups never give me feedback or static. The low ends rumble the ground and the high ends are nice and warm. I would recommend this bass to anyone. Best bass for the money hands down.

A decent bass. Solid for a Peavey. The only complaints I have is the flap of the low B string due to the 34 inch scale length and that when I drop my action real low I get a lot of string buzz. Overall this is a solid bass for an aspiring artist.

Great Bass

This is a great piece. It is well balanced, has a great tone, and the neck is extremely slim and fast for a 5 string.

There is a drawback to this instrument though. The string spacing is close together. That makes a lot of your funk / Pop and Slap styles tough to play. In fact, it took me a couple weeks to get used to the string spacing.

This thing is easy and fast if you're a pick player (which I'm not).
