Impressive

I picked up this bass a few months ago and I was pretty impressed with it. The neck is very thin and fast, and the strings aren't too far apart. The action was good, and the factory strings were a little trebly but also still good. This one is good for rock and metal, but you can get more than that from it. The only flaws it has are poor potentiometers (electronics attached to knobs to control tone and volume) and flimsy tuners.

I've been playing a Peavy Foundation 5 onstage for nearly 15 years. I've played Les Pauls and Ibenez but none of them come close to the feel and flexibility this guitar gives me on stage. I do not think there is another guitar I've found that is worth the value of this guitar. I play this bass through 2 TNT-160 amps used in tandem. The ability to control my tone as much as this one allows is a wonderful tool for finding just the right sound.

I've been playing bass for about 4 years and played basses from a Squier P bass to a Fender Jass bass to an Ibanez 505. I did a lot of research on basses before buying this one and I still believe it is the best bass in it's price range. The pickups are not top-of-the-line, but they are better then what I expected. It's very easy to play. It does have one dead note on a certain string, but that varies from bass to bass and all wood necks will have at least a slightly dead note. You certainly can get better basses, but if you're looking for a bass under $300, this is the one to get!!!

I've been playin bas for all of 4 years now, and yet I'm still on my fisrt bass, and this be it. I gotta say there are nicer, better sounding and looking bases out there, but man, if your looking for a great versitile instrument, and dirt cheap at that, this is the instrument for you. I play everyting from the Jackson 5 to Cannibal Corpse on this thing, and it hasnt let me down yet. I love how it feels and plays, the string spacing is perfect, and the neck isn't too fat (I hate that). I prefer a more mellow fat tone from my basses, and this does that just right. The bass ahs pretty low output pickups, but what can you expect. All being said, its a hell of a bass for the cash, and a sure purchase for anybody in the market for a inexpensive bass. A word of warning however, sounds like a cheap bass through s**ty amp. I'm runnin it through an ampeg b-200r combo, and its as sweet as honey. My advice, dont cheap out on an amp, but thats true for any bass.

Alright for what it is

I've owned this bass for about 2 and a half years. It's fine for the price but its seriously lacking in a few ways. The bass doesn't weigh anything, which some people may find as a good thing, but it's so light it buzzes and doesn't sustain notes very well. The pickups are pretty awful, and aren't well balanced. No matter how you adjust the pickups some notes register way louder than others. Also the intonation falls out of favor really quick, often times I find when I'm jamming and I'll hit the octave of a note and it will pull either way sharp or way flat, I've even had it professionally restrung and adjusted and it still has this problem.

My advice, I'd splurge for a little extra, I'd advise getting something in the same price range with active pickups and maybe 24 frets
