I have purchased this bass amp last year(2009).I really love the rich and powerfull low bass in it.this bass amp has very good deep bass depth in it...Ive been playing bass since 5 yrs and for beginers this bass amp would be good...I would suggest the beginners to go for it....its quite heavy though but use Casters for it...

I've been playing bass for almost 10 years, and purchased this amp back in 2001. At the time, I didn't know too much about gear, so I picked this up because I picked it up at the local music store, which all they had were peavey's and it had "200W"!! Everything back then was all about power and not tone. Looking back now, I wish I chose something else. Like many of the bad reviews, it starts to distort when you get close to 50% of the volume. It does give you a good amount control, you have your high, low, contour, bright, and the EQ, but for some reason, I can't get a good sound out of it. I own a EB musicman stingray, and with all the tweaking, I still can't get the full potential great sound out of this bass. It has good lows, but it must be the mids that this amp is lacking in. For the price, look for a fender or an ampeg.

This amp does many things well. I have had this for about 3 or 4 years now. Actually bought mine used, it has been throttled by the previous owner. He used it for heavy rock. I use it for classic rock and blues. It's pretty good at what it does. Sure, it doesn't have the tone of higher end amps, but it doesn't have that price tag either. Pretty good for the money. Mine has casters on it so the weight doesn't bother me. When we play outdoor shows or bigger venues I always run it into the P.A. You have to be realistic, any amp this size will need help when playing outside or in big spaces. It has plenty of power for a medium or small venue though. And lastly, a compressor is absolutely necessary. Anyone complaining about a lack of headroom or volume probably isn't using a compressor (or isn't using their compressor correctly).......

I use this bass amp every school day because I am in the Jazz band and Stage band. It is a truly amazing amp. If it weren't for the price, I'd own one already. It shakes the Jazz room an insane amount when you crank it up. It gives a very dark and rich tone. I was speechless the first time I heard it, and I still am blown away.

This AMP is a very good amp. The only negative is, the power! If it coild be turned up just a little more past halfway, it would put out very well..It has a nice tone, and quick response for a 15" speaker. It's very heavy. Everything else on this amp is great.
