I recently purchased one of these and it is one of the best basses for a decent price on the market, the p/j pickups have HUGE output and big tone, the necks really fast and the whole thing looks great. I would recommend this bass for anyone just starting out or has been playing awhile in any style of music a real great buy
A darn nice find!

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big fan or ever have been a big fan of Peavey basses. Nothing in their line up really has excited me over the years. The Cirrus basses are nice, but not really my thing.
When I first heard of this bass, my reaction was "that's nice", "who really cares". However after I actually saw one in a local shop, I though to myself that this is a bass that has a certain vibe going for it. It just looks very cool with the black and chrome thing going on. I tried it and was very impressed by the way this puppy projects. The tone is fat full and loud! Playabilty is very good as well and all the features/functions work like they're supposed to. The hardware and pickups are all above average for this price range and the construction is solid.
If I have anything to complain about, it's stuff that is very minor, yet if fixed would truly transform this bass into a top quality instrument.
Complaints, the finish seems a little soft, the satin finished neck is not really all the great, it's ok, but not outstanding. The set up from the factory sucks and you'll need to play with it to get it where you want it. The bridge is not quite where it should be on the body causing the E string sit closer to the edge of the neck than the G string. The strap buttons don't stay is place as their alweays coming loose. Again all this stuff is not a big deal, but a few more looks see's by the manufacturere would fix all this with very little effort on their part. Now I'm not sure if these minor issues are consistant with every Chinese made Scropio bass that comes off the line?, perhaps my issues are not the same as other scropio owners? Who know really?, but this is what I've found with mine.
All in all this bass should give you years of trouble free enjoyment. It's passive and build pretty solidly. I'd recoomend this bass to anyone who's looking for a no nonsense workhorse that looks cool and is fun to play.

I tried it out in a music store through a T-E combo amp. Plays great. Sounds even better. Great passive slap tone from the Duncans. The Duncans really give this bass a great tone. Quality seemed decent. I gave it average in the value category because it seems a bit pricey for a made in China product.
This is a great bass guitar.

I lucked out and won this bass in a peavey giveaway, as a substitution for another bass I couldn't have. I like the looks and the sound of this bass. The rosewood fingerboard has a great tone. I like the chrome-plated pickgaurd out of all of the features. This bass also comes with a deluxe padded gig bag.

David Ellefson is my number 1 influence, his tone throughout the Megadeth albums is what I have been searching for-for years. I bought this bass and found out that although simple, it is very versatile. You can put flatwound strings and get a Steve Harris, Iron Maiden tone or a Motown tone. I mainly use Roundwound La Bella Hard Rockin' Steels with a pick. When I put those strings( the La Bella Roundwounds) on with this bass, it came to life.
The bass is very punchy and growly. You can solo either pickup and go from full-on punch with the neck pikcup solo'd or to warm and fat tone with the bridge pickup solo'd. Together it is very powerful and is perfect for Metal and Rock.
I play it through my Ampeg SVT II (non-pro) all tube head and my Mesa/Boogie Powerhouse 1000 Cabinet. The bass roars through this rig.
The bass is very simple and it nails Ellefson tone.
The quality is a 4.5 because it could have been a bit better if it was made in the USA but it would also cost about double. Great bass, built to last Peavey!
