The Radial Tonebone Bassbone is a smart EQ/DI pedal that manages your bass signal with 2 separate channels and a powerful EQ that overrides the preamp's tone settings. The Tonebone allows switching between a traditional passive bass and a modern active bass during a gig without lengthy and awkward adjustments to the preamp, EQ, amp, and instrument level. This EQ and DI Box can also be used with a single bass to provide 2 separate signals finessed by its incredible enhancement capabilities. The integrated boost, variable gain, and effects loop can be used individually or together. A balanced XLR out sends the complete signal direct to the board for PA-only gigs and studio time. Added heft and punch to your tone is like a secret weapon. The Radial Tonebone Bassbone is powered by a 15VDC power supply.

I am an owner of the Bassbone. I have had mine for at least a couple of years. I think it is one of the best pieces of equipment I have ever purchased. I have used it for 2 basses for two different sounds, but for the last year or so I use it for one bass and it delivers. For the funk/slap technique I use it cleans up my highs/slaps. I have had foh engineers talk back to me during sound check say that bass sounds awesome what are you using. Part of it is my bass but thru the Bassbone the signal to the foh mix is always great. I'm a believer and also an unendorsed pitchman. A satisfied customer

The Tonebone is one of the finest pieces of equipment I have ever purchased. It does exactly what it claims and adds a lot of power in creating the perfect tonal and volume balance between two basses. I can have my P-Bass warm and thuddy for reggae/blues and my active Jazz scooped and zingy for more progressive music. And I can send MY tone to the board with an even gain balance for both basses. If you are still playing through an inexspensive DI and are looking to upgrade, this could be the answer. Radial products deliver...

Great unit for all venues. I have found it to be very versatile. It allows me to incorporate my Boss GT-6B in the effects loop and provides the second input that I have craved. Small jobs work better for me now that I can switch from Passive P-fretless to Active Acoustic bass with only a step on the switch and the same with club dates or big stage performances that require multiple basses. Bassbones provides the only feature that my boss effects pedal didn't have. Now there is everything I need under my feet.

Pro: Will contour tone on both instruments and balance the outputs to match. The tone selection can really warm up a passive signal such as a fretless or acoustic. Flat respose is not a problem if that is what you require. Con: none so far.

Switch, Stomp and Go.

I bought this product because I own a different basses with different pickups (active and/or passive pickups). Problem has always been trying to switch from one to the other. I tried A/B Boxes don’t help because of the output signal as well as the EQ settings on active compared to passive pickups. Both have such different tone that I would have to choose which one to use and then spend ½ hour to an hour redialing in the input settings and EQ. Now both are plugged in ready to go and now I can switch, stomp and go. It was pretty easy to dial in the separate tones and switching from one to the other was simple.

The only very slight thing was using a TRS Cable for the effects loop.

If you gig with more than one bass give this thing a try. I use a Lakland active 5 string and a passive Fender Jazz. Being the Bass player/ lead singer of my band I have no time to tweek amp's and PA's whenever I switch basses. I just set the tone for each bass once and that's it for the rest of the show. The sound is full, clean and just about noiseless. A little pricy but loaded with features.
