Perfect tool for a working bassist

I have had this bass for two and half years and I love it. When I got it I immediately changed the strings to Fender black tapewounds, feels great and looks awesome in all black. I lowered the action, had no need touch the truss rod. Plays extremely well with low action, very nice neck. Sounds excellent, can easily get the Jaco sound. Two "negatives"...the tuners feel cheap (they work and keep tuning 100% well though) and the PUPs were kinda low and loose, to balance between the strings I had to raise the G-string sides of both as high as I could, I added some foam under of both them to prevent them from moving. I have played about 70 gigs with this bass with no issues at all, it is my #1. Fantastic value!!

I got this bass not just because the price tag on it is ridicules but also it has P/J setup and it's FRETLESS. Overall I'm satisfied with it, action is a bit high, neck is kind of FAT and hardware is plastic mostly. Anyway when compared to next cheapest fretless bass (SQUIER $299) it just does not holds up. But I'm on a thight budget so you know... In the end it takes couple more hundred $ to get this guitar where it needs to be with replacing all the plastic and whatever else seems like it belongs on a kid toy more than on a guitar. After all said and done maybe just maybe you'll have a decent bass but at a much higher price.

Unpacked my guitars after moving two weeks ago and this baby was split in two ... right at the nut and all the way down the neck!! The movers transformed it to KINDLING!!!! Bad for me that it's under the insurance deductable; good for me that it's inexpensive to replace. And replace it I will!!!

Great buy for the money especially when you play other basses and need a "jazzy" fretless for a few songs a night.

Definitely replace the strings IMMEDIATELY. I use Rotosound 88's ... black nylon flatwounds. Thicker than the Fender 9120's and with lower tension so you get a fatter sound. Excellent black strings on black neck on black body look ... like you're playing air...

If you need an inexpensive but decent fretless to round out your set, this is it. If you play strictly jazz or need a primary bass, go for something better. For me, this one's great just the way it is...

OK, ok... So I'll change the pickups someday...maybe...

This bass ships with roundwounds. It will get the fretboard skratched from the first note you play onward. It has an Ebonol fretboard that show any and all imperfections. Beautiful metallic flake finish on the black model. Bass looks awesome with black nylon tapewound strings. This bass has one volume and one tone knob for each pick-up. Tighten up all screws before playing. Mine had a stripped out bridge screw and several loose neck screws. An excellent buy at this price or even double!

AWESOME BASS FOR THE PRICE

So I have had the pleasure of having two of these. The first one I sold 'cause I needed money, and then I got another one 'cause I couldnt live without it. The pickups might not be very high end, but that can be replaced. They work for me however. The finish is nice, the action is nice once set up. My only other complain is that DO NOT USE THE FACTORY STRINGS. THEY WILL EAT UP YOUR FRETBOARD. I had this problem with my first one. For the second one, I put on FLAT WOUND strings since day one, and its much better. I use the Fender 9120 Nylon Tapewound Bass Strings. They come in black and since my bass is black too, it looks real sick. All in all, considering the price what more could you ask for. I enjoy mine every moment I pick it up. The best money Ive ever spent.
