...stop your way of thinking when you play this bass.Learn how to use the controls, know what sound you are looking for, and just jam! This bass is great for playing jazz licks like Wes Montgomery. Change the strings to suit the style that you want. When I brought this bass it arrived with a great setup, nice color, good construction and great tone. It may take you a while to get the hang of playing it, however once you master that, you are looking and sounding good!

It's a great tool to work out if you want to use 8-strings in your sound. It looks sharp and sounds good. The knobs are probably going to have to be replaced at some point because noise is starting to creep in and the back battery cover comes off. I have to cover it with gaffing tape but I can live with that.

I bought one of these a few months ago and overall I am pleased with it. My biggest gripe was that one of the tone knobs rotates in a full 360 (its NOT supposed to!)so getting the settings right are a bit tricky to say the least. But, for the price, I cant complain and I mostly just wanted to see how the 8 strings played anyhow. It plays well (our other bass player says its like playing a cheese grater!) but is a bit "twangy" and the tone is on the high side. Also mine only had one set of ferrules to string thru the body and this causes the ends of the thru bridge strings to be at a serious angle at the bridge. Overall if you have never played an 8 string and don't want to spend a lot of dough then this is the one but if you're looking for quality look else where.

If you've been on the fence with these you should get one before they're gone. Mine was playable right out of the box...a few adjustments made it very playable.

I'm not a big fan of lots of knobs. They confuse me. Two is plenty. Even though this one has five, the layout makes perfect sense and I don't have to think about which one I need to touch. Nice work.

It's not perfect; there's a few tiny flaws in the finish, and the rout around the bridge is just a little bigger than it should be. I can live with it.

I owned an eight string some years ago and got rid of it 'cause I had to turn some of the collection into cash. You know how that goes. This one is about a third of the price and plays just as well. I got the transparent black, which under strong light kinda looks like very dark blue or purple.

Forget the name on the headstock and buy one.

What a bargain! I had considered buying this bass for months but just couldn't pull the trigger because I was hung up on the Rogue name. Let me first simply state, this bass is an awesome value. The fit and finish on this bass are on par with instruments costing 3 or 4 times more. I ordered the natural and the photos don't do it justice. Grover tuners, six bolt neck, brass nut, great action, passive/active switchable electronics- you can't beat this deal. This is not for use on every song, but on Cheap Trick, Petty and others it really fills up the sound. Particularly in a 3 piece like our band. If you have seriously considered getting this bass just because you want to try something new, do it. You will not be disappointed.
