i bought this bass about 4 years ago while deployed in the middle east. for the money i paid it did it's job. the action is way to high when you get it, and the tone nob might as well not be there. on the good side it lasted in a sandy envirment that distroys everything. played though a good amp it sounds pretty good. definatly very playable as long as you stay seated the neck out weighs the body so if you let go it dives to the ground. all in all i would recomend it to someone else as a starter bass.

Lite on QC, but better than expected

It was a little light on the QC. I had to send the first one back: the tuning machines are indeed cheap - One was already broken. If you are planning to play out, you might consider new ones. The jack is also cheap. Its not quite the right length, so it pops when you move the wrong way - also a replace job. If you are someone just starting out, and you don't have the bucks, this is a good way to get moving. You can't practice without a bass, and a few tweaks will make it yours. Good for the money. I didn't miss the second pick-up at all. I just pluck sharper for treble. Giving it to my daughter so she can experience the frustration full on! Comes with a cord too, but I didn't test it.

I bought this guitar. I still have it Laying around my house somewhere. I liked the sound but I wanted more for it. So I bought different pick ups, and different strings, along with some different keys, and I made it into something great.

Yup, whether it's an Ukulele, or an Electric Bass Guitar. Rogue has some of the cheapest instruments you'll ever find. Ones you'll ever find that are durable, and sound great. Pick ups are standard, nothing special about them.

I've been playing bass for awhile now and this guitar was by far the most durable. During practice you know you get a little crazy and just have the sudden urge to chuck your guitar across the room! I did it several times and this lightweight bass held up like a tank!

BE CAREFUL TUNING THIS BASS!!!!!!

I wrote a review on this bass a couple months ago, its still a great beginner. But be careful, the strings on it are really cheap. If your song calls for a different tuning, tune it carefully. I ended breaking my E string doing this. I would recommend getting a pair of Earnie Ball Music Man Custom Gage strings to replace them. They sound better and don't break easily.
