This ain't no Hofner/Beatle bass!

I owned this bass and didn't like it. It did not sound anything like the Hofner bass that Sir Paul had in the Beatles. This bass sounded more like an acoustic bass rather than the infamous warm tone of Paul's Hofner. I ended up selling this bass. After this I ended up playing the guitar and haven't looked back.

The low string slaps when you play it. I play with my fingers (no pick), and the lowest string seems too loose. Overall, it's not bad, and the short scale is nice.

This bass is beautifully made, light and pleasant to play, and the sound is absolutely dynamite. I have 8 basses and this is one of my favorites. It plays well, sounds great, and the build and finish quality is outstanding. You can't go wrong with this bass.

It comes quite close to the Hofner while sticking to a friendlier price. It looks amazing, specialy to Beatles' fans & it sounds just as good with enough punch & depth to fill in any emptyness in the music.

I, being mainly a guitarist myself have found this bass to be the easiest to play as it's a bit smaller than your average bass, although I've heard negative comments about this from bassists who are used to & prefer the bigger size of regular basses but I still think this is a nice thing for guitarists looking to explore the bass world & small people who have a hard time getting around a regular bass.

All in all, you can't get a better bass for the price.

If this bass is in limited supply, I highly recommend grabbing this sweet little instrument. Whether you're a seasoned bassist who has developed playing chops on an upright bass or one of the 34" scale electric basses (i.e., Precision Bass) or a guitarist who wants to grab some extra gigs as a bass player, the Rogue VB-100 can fill your playing needs. The 30" scale is fast and easy. The hollow body provides a deep sound that is not commonly found on short-scale electric basses.
