A New Prescription for Bass Tone, Power and Portability
|
Meet the MICRO CUBE RX Bass Combo Amp; it's small, loud, proud, and in true stereo! This amp overachieves with serious bombast in a small body. You won't believe how much this little combo can deliver through its stereo power amps and 4 newly developed custom speakers.
A New Prescription for Bass Tone, Power and Portability
This compact amp is equipped with high-quality, powerful sound. The cutting-edge speakers used in the MICRO CUBE BASS RX are custom designed and built specially for these amps. With two specially made power amps and four speakers contained in each, the RX amp produces an immersive, stereo sound that must be heard to be believed. The true stereo engine also allows bass tones that defy the size of the cabinet. This amp can run on battery or AC power (AC adaptor included).
COSM Amps & Digital Effects
Guitarists and bassists have come to rely on Roland and BOSS for the best effects in the world. The MICRO CUBE BASS RX benefit from this world-leading technology, offering eight built-in COSM amps, six digital effects, 3-band EQ, and a chromatic tuner. Its onboard stereo effects benefit from Roland's decades of industry-leading R&D. Experience the amazing spatial depth and lush sound of the stereo Chorus and Reverb.
Work on your Timing with the Rhythm Guide
The metronome is a music-student's best friend, but that numbing "clank, clank, clank" can get irksome. That's where the Rhythm Guide comes in handy. It's like having a drummer inside your amp. Choose from an assortment of groovin' patterns to practice with. Improve your timing while having a more enjoyable musical experience, or just have fun jamming along to the beats.
Outputs/Inputs
The Phones/Recording output serves two purposes: Plug in a set of headphones and enjoy private practice with lush, stereo sound, or plug directly into a stereo mixer or recording device for accurate signal transfer directly from this amp. It has a line input that lets you plug in a guitar, bass, or microphone. In addition, the stereo AUX input accepts input from an iPod, a CD player, or musical instrument so you can blend its signal with your own.

Good for very low volume practice

First of all, A bass amp shouldn't be this small or at least carry a speaker smaller than 8 inches. The reason being that all bass amps I've played with a speaker smaller than 8 inches usually cannot handle the low end frequencies at mid to uppper volume range. This amp has some added goodies, but unless you use headphones, they cannot be head loud enough, it is a good "bedroom" amp as someone mentioned previously, like for afterhours at night. If you want a small quality amp with a lot of beef, I'd say Line 6's LowDown 110 is the best deal, 10" speaker housed by nothing more than a box surrounding it, making it the most compact 10" combo amp with 4 effects built in + a nice set of EQs and external inputs for live shows (for PAs and such stuff) and with a whopping 75 watts you cannot go wrong. I own one and it's the beefiest small packaged amp I've ever played without any technical problems. The cost is about the same as this amp and the size is about the same if not smaller than this amp. To me this isn not worth it, but i will say this about Roland: They do make some of the best Synthesizers and effect pedals. Their synth amps are also very good. They are not known for guitar/bass amplification as much. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps some of you deciding on choosing this Roland product. If you really love Roland so much for their amps, then hey it's your choice, but you get what you pay for, and here it's not THE bass amp, it's the features and size that you're paying for, which are nice, I didn't say they're not, but you want lots of low end, this amp isn't for you. This is only good for very low volumes.

Practice or Real Amp?

When I saw this thing, I had just gotten done playing on a much bigger "real" amp that you would bring on stage with you. Then I plugged into this. If you were to turn the valume up on this thing to almost full and close your eyes, you would almost think that your playing on a real amp with the valume turned way down. They effects are amazing too. The Octave Bass effect with a 5 string bass is so deep that you can here the individural vibrates. The drums were also fun to play with, and I had lots of fun with either the T-WAH or the Flanger effect but I don't remember which. If I had the money, I would be very tempted to get this just for the effects.

This is the best amp for practice ever. If you live in an apartment this is for you. It is very loud for its size. The bass tone is very good and my bass guitar shines on this amp. It is loud enough yet its not making your ceiling vibrate that will cause your neighbor to irritate at you. The guitar tuner is very good and accurate. The built in drum machine is also good and handy. I wish a knob is choosen for the tempo instead of a button. The EFX are nice to have. The delay/reverb is a bonus. It is light and very compact and yet looks very good. I would recomend this to a friend. All in all I am very happy Roland made this product as if it is tailored made just for me. I wish it have a line out.

I had recently purchased an acoustic bass and found I needed amperage for when I would play along with a guitar and djembe, I did a search and found this amp. The reviews where good so I decided to go for it. I am really impressed with the thing. Lots of features, sounds great for what I will be using it for, it is more than enough. I wasn't happy about the price, but it is worth it, especially since it is the only battery powered bass amp on the market.

Wondful little amp

Not only is it extremely portable and hence convenient, but it's just as good with keyboard, guitar, mandolin, and electronic drum pad (I run a Yamaha DD-65 through it to great effect) as with bass. A real all-in-one treasure, with workable effects. I frequently use it in a church seating 300 people, with a variety of acoustic and electro-acoustic instruments competing against it, and it carries just fine (it will not exactly shake the floor with a bass, however). I've been a professional music historian and player of several instruments for 30 years +, and have rarely run across a product I liked so much. I'm not sure if it would compete successfully against a full drum set, as I have no experience using it that context.
