Don't be fooled by the name, the SWR Baby Baby Blue Bass Combo Amp is rugged and roadworthy. 120W RMS or 160W with an extension speaker keep things plenty hot for all but the largest halls. 3-band semi-parametric EQ with bypass lets you dial in precisely the tone that gets your blood up. Combines the amp section of the original Baby Blue (including its amazing and famous preamp) with a 10" driver and piezo tweeter for a more complete frequency response. Power amp clip LED, sidechain effects loop, effects bypass switch, plus balanced XLR record out with pad and ground lift make it pro power for stage and studio that you can carry in one hand. Headphone jack, tuner send, and unbalanced line out. 14"W x 19"H x 14"D. 39 lbs.

This amp had me a little confused at first, since I was just starting out, but I had extra money to spend, and I'm glad I did now. What I was confused about were the knobs. But as I learned how to use this wonderful little piece of equipment, I learned how it worked and have totally fell in love with it as a practice/small venue amp. It has all the bells and whistles a large amp does, including tube sound. You might be a little thrown by the price, but this amp will give you years of service and you'll never get tired of it. After two years, I'm a total believer in SWR's great attention to detail and quality.

I've been using SWR for a long time. My primary amp is a Studio 220 with a Goliath Jr. cab. I bought a Workingman's 10 for the smaller gigs, but was never satisfied with its solid state sound (vs. the 220's tube sound). And I didn't like the original Baby Blue's two 8s. So I tried one of these - my first SWR purchase since Fender bought them - and ... wow! It has the sound and features of the bigger SWR tube amps in a very compact size. In fact, I was surprised at how small it is. Even narrower than the Workingman's 10 and just a little taller. In quiet venues like coffeehouses, I got an incredible sound - clean and warm. The semi-parametric EQ lets you dial in exactly what you want. Then, this weekend I used it in a small bar and really cranked it up. I highly recommend it for any small to medium venue.

I purchased my Baby Blue II, as it is marked on the amp and SWR web site, a little over a year ago from this web site. I also have a SWR 350 amp head, so I knew what to expect from SWR and was not disappointed. This amp is a little expensive for a 120watt combo, but I think it is worth it. At 56, it has allowed me to continue playing with a bad back. I can lift this little critter in one hand and carry my bass in the other!! In small area's it will do the job by it's self! If you need more, just plug it into your sound system via the DI on the amp and then it works great as a monitor even standing right next to the drummer! The sound is the very best I have heard from any small amp, nice and warm with the tube front end. It produces enough bottom to make wooden floors vibrate big time. I always use it for recording, it even has a speaker off switch and a head phone jack to help you with recording. The only thing I think is missing that is on my other SWR AMP is a limiter. I tend to get a little heavy on my bass at times and wish it would keep me from going to distortion! I have three other amps, all are larger, but this little SWR is the one I use the most! All and all, this is an incredible amp that does everything I want it to do except keep me under control..

I love this amp. The tube preamp fattens the tone, and the unique, versatile, but simple EQ section lets you dial in anything from a jazzy, rolled-off highs kind of tone to an edgy punk sound (i play the whole spectrum i would know :)). Great for small clubs, in my opinion the best studio amp and acoustic bass guitar amp on the market, counting out the SWR super redhead, which is twice as expensive. The 120W still is enough to feel in your feet and the 10" speaker cuts through so much better than larger combos. awesome.
