i've played bass for 40+ yrs. this is the best. I've always liked things a little out of the norm. I tried one of these against a 4X10 (8 ohm) in the store & the 4x10 sounded like it wasn't even on. 8x8 is 4 ohm. you'll get the full wattage from your amp with Lil Henry. Just like a little SVT, but better. I bought that one on sale. been using it since '94. no problems. bought a 'big ben' 18" (4 oh). sounded great. but I've never been a big fan of sub-woofers. i like all the cabs to sound the same. no sub puts out more bass or sounds better than Lil Henry, anyway. so i sold the 'big ben' for another 8x8. powered by an SWR SM 900, there is no better rig out there. anyone who ever sits in or opening band that uses it just drools. sometimes i daydream of other rigs, then our sound man brings me back to earth. why? you've already got the best. he's right. Lil Henry kicks serious a++! enjoy T-bone 'mr.boxin' keltone

Reliable Tone Tank

I purchased my Henry new in 1995. It has held up well despite over 12 years of road wear and abuse. The carpet is fraying and the original protrusive attenuator knob on the back panel sheared off in a tumble down some arena stairs 10 years ago, but it's still solid and none the worse for it. SWR changed the design a bit since '95 and has since implemented a recessed attenuator control in new models. I've never been at a loss for presence in the mix with this cabinet, even with an original SM-400 head. The high-end is a bit directional and gets lost on a larger stage, but it's not generally apparent in the audience and it's easy to over compensate on stage and make the high-end crunchy. I've tried switching to Eden cabs a few times, or switching back to the 4x10 + 1x15 set up I had prior to 1995, but I'm still using Henry instead of the alternatives. I wouldn't recommend it for studio use, and it's overkill for a garage or basement. If you need a reliable powerhouse for live work, like high sound pressure levels, and have a strong back (or roadies) then this might work for you.

I have owned my Henry the 8th for about 12 years now and it's a true thoroughbred. I've had a single 12 inch, a 4 x 10 and they could not even come close to reproducing the clear clean articulate notes with Henrieta. Only thing I would recommend are wheels that are a little larger just to make movement with this beast (120 lbs) a little easier. I've had good offers for it however this cabinet's a keeper! ;)

This is a beast. I'm using it since about 6 months, I got a used one, it cut so easily in the mix, mid's are so defined in this cab. I play southern rock & hardcore & it suits perfectly. I use an Ibanez edb690 bass & an Am peg b2r head and this thing is holding it pretty well. Nice for the price, easier to carry than many cabs, back wheels are very useful too, I love it. It can hold any sound, from low-B to standard edge perfectly. Have I said that it give a so defined sound?

I would have never thought that 8" s would cut like this. Way better than hauling around two 4x10's or an Ampig 8x10
