Vampyre Red Satin

Punchy, modern tone jumps out from EMG HZ pickups, a massive S-TEK bridge, and active 12dB EQ. Maple/walnut laminate neck with rosewood fretboard is joined to the mahogany body with six bolts for rock-solid stability. Figured maple top, diamond fretboard inlays, and black hardware add flash. 35" scale increases low B clarity.

I bought this bass 3 summers ago, and I'll be honest, we've had a rocky relationship. After owning her for about 3 months I changed my tuning from BEADG to EADGC because I was tired of the B getting in the way when I wasn't used to it and I also wanted to try playing more melodic guitar oriented parts; for a while I regretted even getting a 5 string. Now playing with a four string is just so awkward, that high C had become a main staple of my playing style! Such a great bass, great action, great tone, great neck (love that satin!), fantastic balance, just love all around. I only gave it a 4.5 on features because the potentiometers are very close to the bridge, making it difficult to play the 5th string close, especially when I want to play palm-muted power chords haha. Buy this!

Serious noise problem

Mine has a nasty buzz thru my amp after playing for 10 minutes...other basses work fine thru the same amp. It's not string buzz because it starts out sounding clean, but degrades rapidly.

This bass falls apart all the time on me. I have had two already and every time the sound doesn't go through to the amp. It is NOT the patch cord because I tried multiple ones and it still didn't work. I do NOT recommend this bass to anyone who wants a good durable, dependable bass.

Best bass money can buy by far

I have owned this bass for 6 months I puchased it second hand and boy its great! I have had a fender Jazz a Washburn T24 but this blows them away! lovely low action fantastic sound & tone from the EMG pickups. The only problem is how easy it marks on the body. Still you can't have everything, thats the only reason it drops .5 of a point on quality. Best money I have ever spent and if anything happened to it i would rush out and buy another. LOVE IT!! If your looking for a 5 string look no further buy one of these!
