I compared this bass right next to a Geddy Lee Jazz bass and was amazed by the the tone difference. The Schector is half the price and completely kills the Geddy Lee in tone. Much more versatility, more bottom end and better overall tone definition.

I am a guitar player who plays bass (convincingly) from time to time. I sold a Music Man Stingray years ago and have attempted to find a quality bass to replace it for the past six months. This is an outstanding instrument and if there is something better in this price range I cannot imagine what it would be. I tried a made in Mexico Fender Jazz and a Lace Helix. They were made so poorly they had to be returned as unplayable. Schecter now has four instruments in my arsenal and they have never disappointed me. I do not know how other companies can charge so much for so little when Schecter is setting the bar so high.

I'm a 53 yr old rocker that hasn't been out of a band since the 8th grade. Sometimes a product is a mistake - in the positive direction. It has to be at this price. The fit and finish on the Schecter is second to none. It's sound is wide, balanced and rich. It's design is refined and very comfortable. The satin finish and smooth curves are a joy to behold. Most importantly, the neck is downright superb. Its thin, stable and fast. Having a neck-through design with the new Graph Tech nut gives it sustain to die for. The action and intonation are spot-on - right out of the box. Other basses need to be "gotten used to". This bass begs to be played immediately. It's harmony of design elements gives it a soul. Rather than being an assembly of parts, it is an extension of your minds musical playground. Buy this bass.

I am completely satisfied, and then some, with this purchase. I did a lot of research and played a ton of basses in this price range and it is far and away the best value you'll be able to find. This bass is worth a whole lot more than it is selling for. The pick ups and overall body of the neck resemble models and brands that are top tier. I would recommend this bass to beginners and pros alike. Great Bass.

This bass is amazing. Great clean sound. Very versatile due to 3-band EQ. You can cut the mids, flatten the treble, boost the bass a bit, use 100% neck pickup and 15% bridge you'll have a great walking bass tone. You can then flatten the bass and boost the treble a bit to get a great jazz-soloing tone. It's amazing. However, the passive EMG's aren't too good for metal. If you want metal, I'd get either a high end ESP LTD or, if you can afford it, a Euro Spector.
