My college roommate had a Kramer-era Spector NS, and I've wanted one ever since but could not justify the price. The Legend series is an unbelievable value. I was expecting a "sorta-Spector" for this pricetag, and I was very (pleasantly) proven wrong. It's solid, has mass to it, it's balanced well, and just looks stunning. The sound is easily the best and most dynamic of any bass I've owned: The range of these EMG pickups is jaw-dropping (when compared to similar bases in this price range). Honestly, this feels, sounds, and looks like it should cost 2-3 times more. Just buy one!

i got this bass around February and it still plays amazingly, i would highly recommend this bass for beginners and professionals, i got ths bass because my favorite bassist alex webster of cannibal corpse uses it and he was right they are excellent buy this bass u'll love it

I purchased this bass,natural but had to send back. I have a neck through Spector and thought the natural Legend would round out my collection. Sound not quite their and the craftsmanship was quite shoddy, almost as if an apprenticed luthier was tuning his craft. I was greatly disappointed.

I've owned this bass (in the beautiful black cherry color) for about a year now and I'm in love with it. It has an incredibly tight B string (or low Boom as I call it), along with durable and reliable hardware and electronics. I wouldn't have chosen EMG-SSD pickups for this one, but I'm not complaining because you get hooked on the sound. Independent pickup volume knobs and the Tone Pump preamp (hi/mid/lo) add a ton of possible sounds. Neck feels great and body isn't too heavy. I use DK Blue-Steel strings and make this thing growl with rich, warm lows and brighter mids. Comes with really high action, which can be easily adjusted with the locking bridge. Remember to unplug when not playing as you will run down the 9v battery for the active preamp-circuit. Remember though, that Spector warranties only apply to the first owner, so consider that if you buy used as you won't get the warranty. Bottom line: Spector gives you way, way more than you pay for with this bass. Excellent for beginners, intermediates, or as a professional back-up guitar. I play solo and with a non-gigging just for fun band and my Legend Classic 5 never disappoints. Try one out and if you like it, get it. But don't forget your "straplocks" when you buy it!
