I can't say enough about this bass. I know "to each his own" but this one is the perfect fit for me. There are so many great features about this bass: the sculpted body, the active pickups (a tone monster), the fast neck, and very easy on the eyes too! All this for a great price rivaling many high end (and often overpriced IMO) basses out there. I am an active musician playing weekend gigs and this bass often gets a compliment after the show for both looks and sound. I run the bass at full, mids and highs at the halfway point (it is a very snappy bass) and my amp's EQ flat. Direct or through an amp, this bass is tight with punchy lows and a nice even tone across the strings. As with any new instrument, be sure to take the time to set it up to your liking. All this one needed was a new set of strings and a little action adjustment (lowered it a bit). Rock on Spector! Thanks for helping me define my sound.

This is a great bass. I had a chance to play one before I bought it here online. Has a great amount of low and high range where you can make many different sounds. It's also got a great punchy sound when you crank up the lows so it's great for anyone that's into slap and finger picking. The neck is nice and slim too. Well worth the cost and cheap at that! Shipping was well packed as well.

Well, I tried out this bass at my local music store today, and me and my buddy were FLOORED by it's tone. It simply topped the other basses there, including ones that cost double.

Simply put, this bass has an unbelievable ammount of low end (with a proper bass cab). It shook the walls and you could really feel it in your chest. It wasn't muddy either. It was clean, powerful, and very deep low-end. It had great mid-range body and tone as well, but if you're into modern music and rock you'll really enjoy the sound once you scoop the mids. The treble was exceptional as well, you could hear slides and picking with ease with some adjustment of the treble controls. I will say though that it WASN'T the clearest high-end I've heard, as there are no doubt basses that beat it in this area, but it's still very good and quite acceptable. Also, the pick ups dont buzz like lower end basses, so that's also a big plus.

Looks are personal opinion, but to me, this isn't the best looking bass out there. The headstock looks a little big and awkward. I will say though that the bubinga is beautiful. But it's the sound that's the most important, right? If I had the money, this would be one of the top choices for bass out there. Try it on some decent equipment!
