Excellent Bass

I have been a long time guitar player and bass player, and recently began to offer my brother-in-law bass lessons. He needed a quality instrument package that included everything so he could just open the box and get started. He ordered the jazz bass in metallic red, and WOW what an awesome color!. The bass came set up properly, and with just a moment to tune the strings, he was up and going! I have an American P-bass, and this Squier plays equally well. The jazz bass has a slim and comfortable neck, and a very decent and snappy bass sound. Also, the controls give you excellent control over your tone. The included Rumble 15 amp is pretty amazing as well. This is a solidly built amp, and can thump surprisingly well despite having an 8" speaker. My brother-in-law loves his new jazz bass, and if I didn't already own a decent bass, I would be purchasing this pack myself!

Two little problems...

I've only had two problems with this package: One being the tuner which likes to jump from note to note, the other being the cable. Something inside the cable is not working correctly. I'm assuming one of the solder joints broke. Other than that and the tuner though, very nice package.

The bass itself sounds wonderful. I bought mine about two months ago and it's great. The amp sounds good and the instructional dvd and its book are very helpful to a beginner. My only complaint is that the headphones you get with it are rather crappy. But I love the fact you can run music into the amp and play with it and that it comes with a connector peice that allows you to use any headphones with your amp!

the strings were all detuned (which you can expect... you don't want to ship it with a ton of pressure on the neck) and the intonation was good out of the box.

The tuner works good. In the hands of a seasoned bass player he says it sounds great for the money... almost that of what his musicman puts out.

A beginner wouldn't outgrow this bass for at least a year and probably closer to 2 years.

I got this for christmass and it is awsome!!! It comes with every thing you need to start playing the bass. The few down sides is that the plastic is very easily scratched and the bass and amp isnt made in America. Besides that it is incredible.

My first fender gave me tons of problems and worked on half of the time. Well they gave me a trade in and gave me one of these instead and not one problem these things are amazing. highly recommended! This is my first bass guitar and it is amazing great for learning.
