My 2nd axe, took it in to a professional guitar player/store, he said awesome bass for the money, was just about perfect right out of the box, put some high beams on it and good to go, shoulda bout this bass 1st instead of my dean ml, buy this bass, you will b happy, lots of different sounds and styles can b had on this one, the walnut finish is awesome and a few bucks cheaper than the other colors, only thing is the packaging/cardboard box is flimsy and cheap, had one very small dent on the side of the body due to box slightly splitting apart, but maybe it was ups and the way they through them around during shipping, i highly reccomend this bass for the price and quality.

I purchased this for my son, who is a beginner. I bought it based on the Squire name, figuring it would be a good, solid, beginner bass. It's that and more. This is exceptional quality for the price. AND it came out of the box almost perfectly set up. Intonation was great on all four strings. Action was low and easy. The E string was just a tad low with some buzz above the 12th fret, but a small adjustment cured that right up. The nut was well done. String height was ideal. My son loves this instrument, and now wants to practice a lot more. I played a 77 vintage Fender (American) Precision Bass, and I can tell you, I prefer the action and overall playability of this instrument. In all honesty, I have compared Squire basses to Fender MIM standards, and the action on the Fender standards is better (in my opinion). Pickups are better on the Standards too (in my opinion). However, I haven't played an American Fender since my P-Bass, so I can't compare to those. I really like this bass, and would have been happy if I'd have bought one for myself. In fact, I'm looking for an excuse to borrow it from my son so I can play it with a band.

I love this bass. I played at a good size party last weekend and it did excellent. It is really a great buy for the price. My brother plays also but he's harder on equip then I am. He played it slap and the pickup dropped. I'm sure he slapped to hard and they repaired it for me free. No more slapping for him. Otherwise can't rave enough. Very versatile E string does buzz if not held down properly. Just make sure intonation is done on it and mine cleared up.

This Bass is has a great sound and the narrow neck allows for fast action. Its not too heavy or burdening and the shape allows you to comfortably sit down with it. In addition, the price is not too bad so both amateurs can play pretty much a professional grade instrument.

I'm a new bass player, been playing for nearly a year now. It's great for beginners, it has a sleek thin neck, nice distance between the frets, making it easy to play, surprisingly light weight and has a overall nice 'feel' to it. I own the "walnut satin" color, and it's gorgeous. Basically, for the price and quality that you get, it's definitely worth it.
