I have only been playing bass for about 8 months now, I am originally a drummer, but a year ago I accepted Jesus Christ into my life and I wanted to learn how to play bass so I could play in churches that do not allow drums. I purchased this guitar from my nephew who had owned it for about 2 years, when I got the guitar it still had the original strings and the back of the body had a 3 inch chunk broken out of it, I thought for sure that this would affect the sound....boy was I wrong, the guitar sounded great, I have replaced the original strings with a set of Ernie Ball flatwound elixirs, but as far as the damage to the body, it still has not been repaired but the guitar still sounds awesome, it holds tune very well and stands tall against other bass guitars I have played. so if you are considering purchasing this guitar, I highly recommend it.

Great Bass For The Price

This bass is easily worth the buy. It may not be able to do as much slap as a more expensive, fancier bass, but lets face it for this price perfection is not expected. While it is not perfect, it is as close as possible for the affordability. This bass is definately worth the buy. The only problem I have had is a small amount of buzzing which deducted from the quality, however other than that no major problems with the bass.

I've had this bass for a long time its what I've learned off of. But when it times to play with otheres doing shows or just being loud THIS NOT FOR YOU. So if ya just wanna learn from this is great. But another bad quality about this bass is you cant do much slap.

I bought one of these basses in '05, it was the black with chrome pickgaurd and matching headstock. I have been playing it almost everyday since then, hundreds of shows, countless string changes and three new pickup configurations ( not that it needed them) and this little beast is still layin' it down thick. I love this bass. I have a Peavy T-40 that I play occasionally and I have used friends washburns, B.C. Riches and Ibanez... Ibanezes? Whatever. Anyway, only thing I have ever found about this pass that pisses me off is the nut on the input jack likes to back itself out on a regular basis, but other than that I've never had a problem with it. I highly recomend this bass to anyone who is starting out, needs a backup or just likes to capitalize on awesome deals.

As I was continuing a series of testing basses in a Fender amp at a local music store, I plugged this baby in. This bass is a great beginner bass along with the Squier vintage modified jazz bass. You can get about any tone off of this bass, including a jazz bass tone. The only problem I had was the tone on the E string. It wasn't exactly alive as the others, so the tone wasn't as powerful as the others. Other than that, this bass looks and plays great. Definitely a good bass to start with.
