Tried it because it looked so odd. I'm really impressed with the sound, real nice balance (no neck-dive), even sound on all strings/frets (unlike Fenders "G" string about the 5-7th frets. It's a little expensive but the build quality, fit and finish is great.

I played this bass in the acoustic box of my local music store. I loved it, the short scale was a blast to play and then I started to notice the other features. First the EQ was one of the best I've worked with, the headfone amp is a very handy thing too. I would recomend this to you bassists like me who have to practice in a tour bus or in a little shed in your drummers back yard!

Everything about this bass is great. Play it sweet or play it rough - it sounds great. I can do things on this bass I can't do on my Fender Aerodyne. If I purchased this MkII first, I probably wouldn't have got the Fender. (Aerodyne does look and feel teriffic). The Traveler is built very well, of high quality. Pop the headphones in or into the amp. It all sounds great. I've played every night for weeks and am on the original 9v battery. My 2nd Traveler - good equipment.

Just bought this bass the other day and I cant put it down. For the musician on the run this could not be better. Its light weight and small design allows for it to go anywhere. Fits on the top of a plane. There is no compromise in sound and you still get that sweet low sound you get on a normal bass although it does feel weird to play those low notes at the end of the fret board bc there is no headstock.
