Great woods and innovative electronics. |
The Warwick Corvette $$ Double Buck bass guitar is similar to the other Corvette models, but distinguishes itself with unique electronics. It features 2 powerful MEC humbuckers nestled closely in the center position, completely covering the legendary sweet-spot that so many basses miss completely. This configuration gives it a powerful, solid tone with depth and clarity. To make it versatile, 2 mini 3-way switches let you choose humbucker, single-coil, and parallel or series operation. The passive pickups are matched to the MEC 2-band active preamp, making it a true passive/active hybrid. The Double Buck features a select swamp ash body, an ovangkol neck, bell brass frets, high-quality hardware, and natural or transparent color oil finishes.
Warwick Corvette $$ Double Buck 4-String Bass Features:
- Select swamp ash body
- Corvette body shape
- Ovangkol neck
- Dual MEC humbuckers
- 3-way coil tap switches for hum cancelling, single coil, or parallel/series pickup operation

Yeah, so I've owned this bass for over 2 years and was very impressed upon purchasing it. While I've considered parting with it a handful of times for something else (I'm never satisfied), I just can't seem to let it go. The craftsmanship is world class, as is the sound. Reliability is not a concern, and the look is down right BA. The $$ is so limitless I now play in a metal band that drop tunes to B, and all I did was re-string with some .125 DR tapered cores and the Warwick played perfectly with only a bridge adjustment. Germans rule!

I tried this bass at a local music store and I was quite impressed. The one I tried was black, and I loved the finish- you can feel the grain and it was very comfortable and easy to play. The only thing that could have been better is that the neck is sorta thick or chunky, either that or it just feels different from my p-bass. I love the sound of the humbuckers and like the sounds you can get with the 3-way switch for each pickup. Overall this is a beautiful and amazing bass- if I ever got the money I would definitely buy it.

I first played this bass 4 years ago, and it didn't leave my head till I bought one about a year ago. It has a perfect neck, flexible tone, and a totally unique growl that every bassist should crave. Not one regret about buying it, its been the best investment I have made as a bass player. One problem with this bass is that it is very easy to scuff it up, so if your a freak about keeping all your gear in mint condition be careful. Having played Js, Ps, Stingrays, Bongos, and a few Tobiass, its easy to say this is my favorite bass ever.

I was saving to get a ric 4003, but I went into a local music store and fell in love. I dont think its a pretty bass but once I picked it up I couldnt put it down. I sat in that music store for around an hour, playing it and messing with the controls. There are a lot of sounds you can get of of this bass and they are all thick and very warwick like. Its been about 3-4 months since I got it and it seemed time to start selling the old basses off. There was just no need for them any more. Get it, it will be the last bass you will ever have to buy.

When I was looking for a bass, money was not a concern. I wanted a bass that could match the various notions I had in my mind. I fell in love with the warm sound and the punch this bass provided. I tried a lot of basses, but I couldn't stop thinking about this one. The neck was a little thick for my really small hands, but Warwick made an adjustment for me (as I had mine ordered with a couple tweaks.) The only problem I have found is that when I get aggressive with the bass, the the strings pop against the pickups, so I had to lower them to suit my playing. Someone commented on not playing it like it owes you money, but I can't help but get into this beast. With this much versatility of sound, I can't imagine not having this bass. I am thinking about a Modulus 5 string FL addition as that bass plays so smooth and is extremely comfortable and not as bright as I though it would be; but I will always use my Warwick. It has a sound that is all it's own. Unique, sweet, and exactly what you think of when you think of that perfect bass sound. I am only considering the Modulus b/c i want a fretless and a 5 string for versatility in some songs. The Warwick will remain my mainstay.
