The Warwick Corvette $$ Double Buck is a 5-String bass guitar that is similar to the other Corvette models, but distinguishes itself with unique electronics. It features 2 powerful MEC humbuckers nestled closely in the center position, completely covering the legendary sweet spot that so many basses miss completely. This configuration gives it a powerful, solid tone with depth and clarity. 2 mini 3-way switches let you choose humbucker, single-coil, and parallel or series operation. The passive pickups are matched to an MEC 2-band active preamp, making it a true passive/active hybrid. The Corvette $$ Double Buck features a select swamp ash body, an ovangkol neck, bell brass frets, high-quality hardware, and natural or transparent color oil finishes.

I got my $$ about 3 weeks ago, and so far I cannot find anything bad about it. I can basically get any kind of sound out of it that I want. And as far as playability, to me it's top notch. I hammer, slap, pluck, thump, and tap, and it accommodates each style graciously I've been playing bass for 35 years, and this is one of the baddest axes I have ever owned !

This bass completly blew me away when I purchased it. What people complain about this bass is just about not being able to set it up well. That is completly their fault and its not the bass. The other problem that people seem to forget is that you can get so many different sounds like really good crystal high sounds and deep growling lows(because of the swamp ash woods). The last thing is that people complainabout the price but you really get every bang for your buck. It is made so well and has such great electronics and wood there is no way it is at all over priced. It has the best sound for a bass under $2500 and feels absolutly superb. I've been playing bass for a whilenow(about 20 years)and it is better than any music man i've played or owned and destroys all fenders. The only others basses that I know of that beat this one are other warwicks that cost just about $4000 which i own. They are pretty much the same but the warwick thumb does have some better features. Everything about itfrom the feel of the neck to the electronics and the quality are all an A+ in my book. If you want a bass just do yourself a favor and buy this one, you wont regret it.

Warwick dissapoints me

Ok I played this bass running through a gk700rb II which is a very bright sounding amp. I could get no High end of of this bass whether or not it was the strings of the double MM style pickup config. I do like the thought of the dual MM style I think one needs to be placed closer to the bridge to get some definition from all the meat and chunkiness that this bass gives you. Also, about the pickup layout. It is very weird to slap on, the neck left a bit to be desired but for the price your paying you could get a bass custom made. Not a good value for the price. If warwick had put a little more thought into this design I think it would have been very good.......but they didn't.

I have owned many Warwicks over the years (mostly early 90's models). I bought this one to compliment my usual Stingray 5's. Totally disappointed...could not get this bass set up well at all...sound is iffy as well, the tones just are not there. Sold it after 4 weeks.
