I bought a '96 model Corvette Standard 5 String off Ebay. I've fixed it up, and boy is it awesome. Mine is beautiful. My '96 has passive pickups and simple tone control/pickup blend. But it's still amazing, so I can imagine how this new one would sound with two band EQ and active electronics.

Bottom line, buy one.

This is the bass of my dreams. Absolutely crystal clear tone that responds to my every touch. Very dynamic and lively. For a passive five, the tone is super consistent down to the lowest notes, without the usual floppy Bstring. I use this bad-boy every single weekend at gigs and it always makes me smile. Old school 70's or slick dance type stuff or punky rockers, this bass delivers with a look and feel missing from all others, including basses costing twice as much. A very unique tone with an earthy midrange that fills the mix with soul shaking coolness. Mine is the Nirvana black swamp ash version, and it is a Lifer for me.

I never thought I would say this about an instrument, but I firmly believe this bass has made me a better player - if for no other reason than the tone is so incredible that I just can't put the thing down! I played a Carvin for 12 years - it was alright, but I had no idea a B string could sound this tight and punchy! I wasn't even looking for a bass - killing some time, tried one in a store, had to have it. And I'm glad I did - you cannot go wrong with Warwick, and this bass just blows away anything else in its price range.

I played this at a local guitar shop and the first thing i noticed was the baseball bat for a neck. Besides the neck this bass was rockin. A little heavy but who cares. it does have a very unique tone. I personaly would go straight to my Fender Jazz Bass but everybody has their favs.
