Corvette 6 string

I played this used but it was in great condition. The pictures on here don't barely display what it looks like, it looks classy in person. I plugged it into an Acoustic B200, an amp which I own and I will hold against almost any other bass amp. This bass has a nice tone and sound but there are some drawbacks. The action is VERY LOW but there's no buzzing or anything so it's just kind of strange rather than a problem. This thing weights about 15 pounds. Warwick's all have a crazy weight due to the wood that Warwick uses but it's not just the body on this one, the neck weighs more than the body. Compared to other basses I've played, it's not as loud, the volume pot turned all the way up just wasn't as loud as the others. Overall this is a nice bass with a smooth sound that you could play any style with. Two main problems: weighs waaaaay to much, way too expensive but still worth a try.

BEST 6 STRINGS I'VE PLAYED

I have a '99 Corvette, six strings. This bass is a sonic wall!. The B string allow slapping it without losing bright or distort the low frequencies. The Basslines pickups are amazing, and only with vol-balance controls, you can have several different sounds...and after you have to add the bass-high preamp controls! It can sound like a thunder or like a cristal. Also, I love its almost flat fingerboard and the oiled wood that feels very warm and friendly. The perfect stilistic detail for me are the black hardware that gives it a rough and mature scenic presence.
Definitively, this will be my musical partner for many years, and I think it will be difficult to find a replacement (nevertheless, I will keep it anyway!).
The only feature I don't particularly like is the access to higher notes, because the neck is so shifted into the body (or the body is too long, whatever), difficulting to play the high strings in high frets, but cm'on, this is a BASS guitar. Anyway, with a little practice, you can adapt yourself to play those notes.

Mine vette is from 98', as I think many would agree the 90's wicks were a tad nicer. I upgraded my pickups to Basslines, and threw it a Bartolini preamp @ 18 volts. If it weren't a tone monster stock, it certainly is now. The heavy body and neck provide ridiculous sustain. I used to play stainless strings, as I loved the crisp bite. However, I decided to switch to light nickels. The difference in tone is significant. It lost that tin-like sound, and embraced the warm mid-low growl you all hear about. Don't get me wrong-- the bass can still bite! The nickel just leave your fingers and frets happier. I'd definitely recommend this bass to anyone. They're gorgeous and sound incredible. It's my number one bass.

I always loved the sound of Warwick basses, and I dreamed of playing this bass for years, but they were never available to buy around me.
Finally last summer I found one of these in L&M and immediately hooked it up and played it. I fell in love with the feel, the tone, the diversity. It didn't take much debate for me to purchase it. It put a hole in my pocket, but it has been worth it.

The Best of the Best

I played the first Warwick’s that came over to Canada around 15 years ago and fell in love with all of them then. The low end on these are unsurpassed but for mid and high register "note solo" type of playing it works just as well. The tone can be shaped quite well with just the onboard controls and make a crappy little amp sound 10 xs bigger. I use it for everything from rock to jazz gigs and it's versatile enough to do it all. After longing for one for 15 years I finally bought one and wouldn't trade it for anything. If you're serious about your playing it's the bass to go with. Get a big wide padded strap to compensate for the weight, and the price may be a bit high for some people but this bass will last longer than buying cheap.
