This bass is really good, as far as a first buy is concerned. Best for the price, at the very least. It's got some buzz, but it doesn't go through the amp, so I'm not worried. I believe the features score should be disregarded, as "features" on an instrument don't mean all that much. It's more how you play it. The feel of the instrument is very nice, and the scale is really good. All in all, it's quite good, and for a beginner, it'll last you even through the stages of mid-level basses, until you are ready for a professional style instrument.

well i play bass ive been playing for a couple months and i think im pretty d*** good specially for that the time, my friend heard me play and was interested in bass so he bought this one, i used it and i say its a lot of bang for teh buck if ur a beginner. but what ill warn you is if u always play an instrument, like i playd drums for about ayear before i picked up bass, bass is really easy to learn if u played a differnt instrument, so if u play guitar or drums id say save ur money and get a semi good one to start your money cuz i spent 120 on a dean beginner one and now a couple montsh later i need a better one

A slap in the bass!

The great points of this bass are: First of all the price. The Washburn T14QT is sold at a great price. Second the sound. I have always played short scale basses like the Hofner and Stienberger. I was looking to buy a long scale bass to start learning some slap bass, since the short scales don't cut it. The price attracted me to what I consider a great sounding bass once it is adjusted. I would have liked to see active electronics and would have gladly paid additional for them. The one warning I would give on this purchase is, if you are a beginner take the bass to a reputable shop for set up. It is worth the extra money to get this bass to perform. I was able to adjust the truss rod and set up the bridge in about a half hour. In another thirty minutes,I had the octaves dialed in perfectly using the electronic tuner provided. Unless you've set up guitars before leave this to the pros. Overall, a great bass for the price.

i've played bass for about 17 years now and i own a real washburn [i've always liked the feel and look to them] and my son has always wanted a bass but i don't own any lower models anymore and i wouldn't trust him with a 1000$ piece of equipment! so i got him this, its actually really good for the price, i set it up out of the box and just started slapping on it and thats one BIG plus on this one! its great for jazz and slap, somewhat if you want a more P style sound but this is more of a loose bass... overall great bass its really big and sturdy, body molds to you when your sitting and playing and strings are great for stock

but they got rid of the sunburst =[... but anyways.. i tried this out at a store because i'm looking for a budget bass to beat teh crap out of without sounding to bad and actually not falling apart after like a month.. and this one is it! the store price was ridiculous so i thought i'd look online, and here it is! i haven't ordered it yet but darn, should have sooner cuz from what i can see they dont' carry the sunburst anymore. but still, this bass is BIG i'm talking about imposing big, which is how i like it for a much deeper sound and for some reason i can play faster on a longer neck [comfortable for me] but overall, best budget bass i've ever played
