I've been playing bass professionally for over 25 years and this 5-string for 5 years. There isn't a bass I could find- at any price -that was any finer than this one. No need to pay more!

I've owned this bass for about a year now and overall, it's a great bass. It has a wide tonal range, and feels great on stage. Only thing is it is a little heavy and the neck gets a bit sticky after a few songs. I'm sure I could sand it down, but i don't want to ruin the beautiful finish. One thing for sure is that this bass has great looks. i started playing a sorta heavy metal style, which this bass is good for, but as i progressed musically, i started to play a more jazzy/rush style with a lot of melodic runs and harmonies. the neck was just too think and the frets too far apart, but what 5 string isn't. i play with my figers, but i broke my finger and had to play with a pick, and this bass was great for both uses. i've gotten away from the style that this bass was intended for, but for a heavy rocking bass player, this bass is a great instrument for a great price

I've been playing on this bass for about 2 years now and it has always sounded AMAZING! It does go through batteries fast, but I bought a couple rechargeables and they last 2-3 times as long as regular 9v's then you recharge them and they are like new! I've only had 1 problem with it, the wires on the 9v snap connectors have broke a couple times, not hard to fix but kinda a pain in the butt.

Due to a hard to replace broken key on my current bass, my friend was kind enough to lend me his guitar to use in the mean time. While this bass looks nice, I've found that its tone is everything but. During practice I found myself repeatedly adjusting the equalizer to try to find something that works for me. I was never able to get it. The pickups look impressive, but they transmit too much fret buzz. The battery for the active pickups has an easy access cover, which is cool. The looks are nice and the color scheme perfect. But I've found that it simply doesn't have hardly any sustain. Hit a string and you’re left wondering where the sound went. The neck seems short to me, but I'm 6'. I'm not at all impressed by it, but I won’t tell my friend that. I’d rather be playing a no-name guitar I used to play. I'd recommend an ESP F series.

I've had mine for well over a year now and it's still cherry. It plays fast and sounds excellent doing it. No matter what style I'm jamming with at the moment this bass always delivers. My only gripe is that it goes through batteries quickly. I have to replace it every other week when playing regularly. Though, I don't have any prior experience with basses that have active electronics. I don't mind springing for the batteries though cause it doesn't let me down.
