Total tone control!

The Yorkville XS400H 400W Bass Head with Tube Preamp is equipped with a 12AX7A tube to fatten your sound. Then Yorkville adds a parallel tube overdrive circuit to the XS400H to thicken your tone even more. A Wet/Dry balance control lets you blend the exact proportions of clean and overdriven signal you want. The switchable limiter and compressor have user-definable threshold control for even more shaping possibilities.

The XS400H bass head's improved 5-band equalizer has a semi-parametric mid with user-definable frequency and is complemented with a continuously variable Scoop control. Other pro features of the Yorkville XS400H include a front-panel Wet/Dry control for the effects return, footswitchable tube overdrive, footswitchable effects return, tuner mute switch, and a pre/post selectable tube DI output.

Speakon and 1/4" extension cab outputs give you flexible connection options.

I've had this amp for about a year now, and it sounds awesome. I used to have a Behringer, and although I didn't have any problems with it, the Yorkville's sound quality is so much better. The tube preamp really gives it a cool, aggressive sound. I would definitely recommend this amp.

Amazing sound at an amazing price. The tube feature it's the best one because it fattens your sound without getting it muddy. The compresor is good, but just good, because you can only adjust the threshold, so when you crank it up the release is kind of slow. The Scoop can help you bring out that high end used for funk but you'll need to add some mids and cut a little on the amp's Bass knob to compensate and not making the sound too boomy. I've tried it in SWR 4x10, Ampeg 4x10 and Hartke 1x15 cabs and the sound's awesome. Great for recording as well since it has line out and pre/post E.Q. with it's Tube D.I. If you want to sound as good as an SWR or Ampeg and save your money do yourself a favor and go get one.

This amp has supplied me with everything that I could ever need. I rarely turn the volume past five, only in outdoor gigs and then it goes to 7 or 8. Sounds do not deteriorate at this point either. It will overpower any instrument and drums if needed. Also, I leave the EQ flat!, all eq-ing is done from my bass controls. Also, I play through an ampeg 4x10. everyone tells me how well I play and sound now.

I've had several NOISY heads over the years and this one is, by far, the best "bang for the buck" head I've ever invested in. It gives you total control over your sound, punchy, and extremely flexible. One the best features is the mute button which allows me to tune on stage directly without presenting any unnecessary noise. The tube preamp just adds to the many sounds this amp provides. If you are a working bass player and need a reliable killer head at a decent price, this one is for you!

I bought this amp at a local music shop along with the traynor 1x15 and 2x10 cab (excellent cab as well). Its awesome and has a great low end, especcially with that cab. The warrenty is great, two year unlimited?!?! Its unbelievable! If you play Rock and like the low end i suggest getting this amp. It lack some of the high end notes I like for the punk, but oh well.
