Ibanez chose to use Cocobolo wood in order to construct the EWB20CBENT acoustic-electric bass. Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood from Central America. It's very dense which is great for making guitars or basses, because it allows for more sustain of musical notes, which of course is a coveted and highly important quality for acoustic bass players; they have to lay down the groove with plenty of lasting sustain. The Ibanez EWB20CBENT features a 34" scale length, a Mahogany wood neck, an EW body style and cut-away for upper fret play access. This Ibanez acoustic bass also features chrome die-cast tuners, a Fishman Sonicore pickup, an Ibanez AEQ-SST Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner. This EQ system features a Tone Shaper function that allows the player to control the loudness contour of the instrument. Also equipped with a balanced XLR output, rosewood bridge and fretboard, Ivorex II nut and saddle, natural high-gloss finish, and D'Addario EXP bass strings, this Ibanez bass sounds as beautiful as it looks.
